Google Calender

Today we utilized google calender. This branch of google gives you a virtual calender that you program events into and share with friends. This makes it easy to find days that your friends don't have anything going on. I probably wont use it because I have a fairly good memory. But you may find it useful.
Visit Google Calender!

Google talk

We also explored google talk last class. With google talk you can connect your phones together. This way if someone calls your home phone, it will cause your cell phone to ring. You can do this with multiple phones. This can be pretty useful.
Sadly, I can't give you the link to google talk. It is blocked here at school. But a quick search should get you there easily,

Google Hangouts

Last class we explored google hangouts. Google hangouts is a way to get many people to video chat with each other. 10 counting yourself. This is a fairly easy to use video chat feature. You will have to make a gmail account to use it and download some software. But it is worth it.
Visit google hangout here. --> Here

Kerpoof

Kerpoof is the website we explored. Kerpoof is a website that can be used to make cards, drawing, animations, and much more. You must make a Kerpoof account to save anything you create however. Overall, I enjoy this site. Although, at times, it can be a little elementary.
Visit Kerpoof here!
Here's some of the stuff I created in Kerpoof!

Toon Doo

The past few days we've been exploring Toon Doo. Toon Doo is a that you utilize to make virtual comic books. The website uses a bunch of pre made characters that you can choose from. Or you can make your own characters from scratch. Then you can choose from many settings to base your comic in. Overall, this site is a comic strip creator for people who can't draw whatsoever. Check it out for yourself! Overall, i'm not a huge fan of the website. It needs to be improved. But what website doesn't right?
Visit Toon Doo!!

Flag Counter

We just explored a thing called a flag counter. It allows you to put a gadget on your blog that tracks the location of your visitors. You earn a flag when a person from that country visits your blog.
Make one here!!
So far I only have 1 visitor. But that is because I made it a few minutes ago.

Flowers2Mail.com

Today we explored flower2mail. This website can be used to make a virtual bouquet of flowers for a loved one, friend, or just random person. It's easy to use and is a cute display of kindness. The website allows you to send the flowers via email.
Check it out here!
Here's a picture of a bouquet I made!

Photo Editor #2

We used many photo editors last class. But only a few were good in my opinion. One of them was Pixlr. This photo editor lets you do pretty much anything you want to the photo. I didn't get too in depth with this photo mainly because I didn't want to spend all day editing it. It's a fun way to kill some time, or make that photo look a little better.

Visit Pixlr here!

Photo Editor #1

Last class, we explored some photo editors. We took some pictures and then edited them online. I used multiple editors to do so. I used the editor PicMonkey to make this picture black and white.

Visit PicMonkey by clicking here.

Teach Web Wikispace

Today we learned about the website Teach Web Wikispace. Overall, I don't like this website. Anyone can edit the information on it. This leads to people being stupid on the website. It was intended to be a helpful tool, but it just isn't.
Visit it here --> Wikispace

Class Tools and Super Teacher Tools

On Wednesday we explored the two websites: SuperTeacherTools and Class tools. On these websites you can do many random things. Random number generators, Jeopardy games, and my personal favorite, the fakebook page. The fakebook page allows you to create a false facebook profile of anyone in the world. It's good for a couple laughs. Visit the sites here:

Image generator.

Today we learned about image generators. Image generators allow you to make an image by choosing from a bunch of things that you can put in the image. Some image generators allow you to change the headlines:
Others allow you to create sticky notes!

And some allow you to make a lego man!
Go check them out for yourself!!

Avatar

Today we made avatars. Avatars are a detailed person created on the computer. You use them when you don't want to show a real picture of yourself on your blog. We visited multiple websites that let us create avatars modeled after ourselves. Some were better than others. Below are a few pictures of avatars that I made. I think the one in the middle looks the most like me. What do you think?

Panoramio

Panoramio is a program that allows you to see pictures that people have posted all around the world. You can browse pictures by where they were taken in the world. This is pretty cool, because you can see what other countries look like that you have never been to.
Check out Panoramio by clicking here --> Panoramio

We also checked out Google offers. Google offers shows you good deals/offers that stores are running in or around your town. This is a cool way to save money, and find products that you couldn't find elsewhere.
Check out Google offers by clicking here --> Wheeeeeeeeeee!!

Google Drive For Ipad

Today we tried out the Google Drive app for ipad. Just like the Blogger app, Google Drive is good...  But not great. The web version is much more easy to use/understand. The app has a way to go before it is as good as the website itself, but it's a good start. I do like how you can access what you did on the website. But that was the only thing I really liked about this app.

Google Drive

Google Drive allows people to work on a document/drawing/presentation on separate computers in separate rooms. Google Drive will allow you to choose how private you want your documents to be. I didn't like good drive that much. It lagged a ton, when I clicked somewhere with the mouse it wouldn't click on the spot I was pointed at (if that makes sense). Google drive is a good idea. But it needs some work.

Google Tricks

Today we learned about google tricks. Google can do many things that we didn't know about.(;

Google do a barrel roll. The results page will do a full spin.

Google the loneliest number. The Google calculator will tell you that this is 1.

Google the answer to life, the universe, and everything. The Google calculator will tell you that this is 42 – a reference to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

Go to google.com/pacman. The Google logo will become a playable Pacman game.

These are just a few tricks that google can do. Search the web and find a few for yourself!

Add-Ons

Today we experimented with add-ons for the browser "firefox". We downloaded as many add-ons as possible. Too many too talk about. So I will show you a few add-ons that I downloaded.

One add on I got was called Awesome Facts. In this add on you get a fact delivered to you on every webpage you visit.

Another add on I downloaded was called Play Drums. In this add you can play drums with your keyboard. Every key you hit plays a different sound.

In my opinion, this is the number 1 add-on of all time. I'm not even going to tell you about it. Just download it. Nyan Cat.

I hope this post was able to show you some cool add-ons that will help/entertain you.

Blog Backrounds

Did you know that there are websites that will change the background of your blog for you? Well, there is. One of them is called The Cutest Blog On The Block. You can use this site to get some sweet backgrounds/wallpapers for your blog. It just looks better than the "stock" wallpapers that come with blogger. I recommend that you check out this site or find some for yourself.

Favicon

Favicon stands for "Favorite Icon". I used the website www.favicon.cc to change the icon on my address bar (the pictures below show you before and after I changed the icon). The picture you choose to be your new icon must be very small (16 x 16 to be exact). So keep that in mind if you want to change the icon for your blog/website.

P.S. - I changed my icon to a picture of my band, Housefire. Check us out on facebook/twitter/youtube.

Feedjit

Today I learned about a widget titled "Feedjit". It allows you to see who is visiting your blog in real time. You can see what operating system and browser they are using. You can also see where they are from and how they were directed to your blog. "Feedjit" is a useful tool. I imagine that large companies use it to see who is viewing their site.

Symbaloo

Symbaloo is an easy to use way to bookmark your favorite websites and access this websites on any device. Organization becomes easier than ever with this website. In a way, this website is also a social network. Because you can share your Symbaloo page with others.

You can bookmark your websites as the squares seen above. You can then organize all those websites into folders called "webmixes". This makes accessing your favorite websites easy and fast.

Overall, I highly recommend Symbaloo. It's a very easy to use website that has a simple function.

Blogger Gadgets

One of the first gadgets I have on my blog is a view counter. It shows everyone that views my blog how many times someone has accessed the page. This can make people think your blog is popular.

My next two gadgets are image gadgets. They add an image to my blog. You can attach a link to the picture so people can click on it and it will take them to another website/blog.

The next gadget on my blog is a virtual guitar. It give people that visit my blog the option to play a virtual guitar with their keyboard. This boosts the entertainment value of my blog.

My next gadget allows people to stream music for free from amazon. People can listen to music while viewing my blog with the help of this gadget.

The last gadget I have allows people to follow my blog via email. This way, people can see what I post on my blog through their email. They won't have to check my blog everyday.

Blog Stats

As you can see, my blog has been viewed a total of 85 times. With 9 of those views coming from today. But, I had 0 views yesterday. The graph is a visual aid to help you comprehend how many views I have.
As seen in this chart, all of my views have come from The United States, most people viewing my blog have viewed it on a macintosh, and the main browser used to view my blog is safari.
